English: Roseate Tern (Sterna dougallii), Spurn Point, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The closest bird is a Roseate Tern, the rest are Common Terns (Sterna hirundo). It is paler and has a darker bill. Roseate Terns are rare breeders in England but small numbers can often be found in tern flocks in the autumn. They winter in west Africa. |
