Summary[edit]

Description
English: Classification of legume root nodules based on morphology (names of legume genera exhibiting this morphology are provided in parentheses):

Determinate:

  • A. globose (Glycine, Vigna, Erythrina, Sesbania)
  • B. aeschynomenoid/dalbergioid (Aeschynemone, Arachis, Dalbergia)

Indeterminate:

  • C. elongate (Albizia, Tephrosia, Vicia)
  • D. bifurcate (Leucaena, Medicago)
  • E. palmate (Acacia, Crotalaria)
  • F. coralloid (Albizia moluccana)
  • G. perennial branched clusters (Swartzia trinitensis)
  • H. perennial globose—apical (Wisteria sinensis), shown here at 1, 2, and 4 years
  • I. lupinoid (Lupinus, Listia)
