"Gugi-Brunnen" vor dem Rathaus in Jügesheim, Detail. Hier sitzen sie, die Jügesheimer Strohflechter, wahre Meister in der Herstellung von Strohmatten und Strohschuhen, die sie bis nach Offenbach, Mainz und Fulda auf die Märkte brachten und gut verkauften. Meist waren es die Frauen, die diese langen Wege zurücklegten und ihre Ware mit dem Schubkarren oder auf dem Rücken transportierten. Auf dem Gugi-Brunnen sei ihnen ein Denkmal gesetzt.
