It isstated in detail that the first named havebeen most successfnlly acclimated in NewZealand. A plea is entered for the grizzly bear,said to be nearing extermination in sever-al districts. The animals are reported tobe timid and it is suggested that it beprohibited to trap them. Beaver have increased enormously insouthern British Columbia, and in someparts of Kootenay, Okanagan, Similka-meen and Kamloops, sufficiently so to bea nuisance to fruit growers. Permissionto kill them under restrictions is suggest-ed. The report is not so encouraging as togame birds, though even in this case itwould seem that conditions are improvingin British Columbia as the result of thework by the warden and his as-sistants.
