| Description |
English: Road to Nowhere, Stairs Road, Essex When I was little I really liked a song by Talking Heads that went "We're on a road to nowhere". Perhaps the group were inspired by this! Stairs Road is a little track that leads down from MOD security at Landwick down to the seafront at Wakering Stairs. This section of MOD land is a minefield of little tracks and rail-lines behind padlocked iron gates which all seemingly lead to nowhere. This scene epitomises the look of this area. The tracks never seem to be in use, although on occasion more empty carriages appear further up in the scrub, so I guess these gates must be opened sometimes. |
