Summary[edit]

Description
English: Pumice (Shoshone Ignimbrite/Resting Spring Tuff), erupted by a volcano during the Miocene epoch, seen in a roadcut on CA 178 near Shoshone, California, USA. Rocks at this location include devitrified pumice tuff, welded tuff and vesicular vitrophyre. The volcanic rocks are cut by faults. This road cut is known informally by geologists as "the Charlie Brown Outcrop" because the road is the Charles Brown Highway.
