Summary[edit]

Description
English: River Ash, Shepperton Green (historically and on the left bank still Littleton) where it is spanned by Squires Bridge. This large stream flows from the River Colne between upper Staines (Staines Moor) and Stanwell to the Thames between Sunbury and Shepperton. It has marked a shallow barrier between settlements since their early medieval creation. Here it was the only phase it did not demarcate, as was wholly in Littleton which so much reduced by the reservoir and closely associated with Shepperton, mainly as its great House and estate is taken over by "Shepperton" Studios.

Its source and course have changed over the years to make way for a reservoir and a road and to prevent flooding – the last homes-flooding event was in 2014. That of 1947 impacted more homes: even in Ashford and Green Lane, Shepperton Green.

The river can be seen through the pillars and over the parapet of the bridge.
