| Description |
English: This is the middle and largest part of a huge former ammunition depot of the Swiss army (RUAG) near Erstfeld. On the left and right there are another four and five smaller chambers. This part goes 80 m deep into the mountain and is 39 meters wide. In the middle is the staff entrance with two ramifications left and right into the chambers. The chambers are 10 meters wide and have two cross connections. Because in 2008 in front of this installation a heavy traffic center was put into operation, the ammunition had to be moved to another location on Lake Uri. Since three years there is a mushroom factory inside. Switzerland, March 18, 2016. |
