The Slavs have in manyplaces made their way into what are nowregarded as Teutonic borders, and havethere fixed themselves in permanentresidence. This statement holds goodof the eastern border of the Germanempire and of the whole circuit of Aus- tria-Hungary. Roumania, though in-habited by the Aryan Wallachians, has,nevertheless, a considerable percentageof Slavonic population. This is true ofBulgaria and of vServia, as we have justseen.
