Description

On this photo, one can see the road which heads to the central city from Ankara Railway Station. The tents shown on the photo must have belonged to the workers of Culture Park (Youth Park). The Shooting Gallery which was constructed for promoting and popularizing shooting on 1930s cannot be seen on the photo. However, the beauty of its garden is unveiled on these photos.

Osmanlı döneminde ve Cumhuriyet’in ilanından sonraki yılların başında, Ankara Garı’ndan çıkıldığında, kente, Taşhan Meydanı’na iki tarafı bataklık toprak bir yoldan gitmek zorundaydınız. Başkent Ankara yönetiminin ilk önemli hizmetlerden biri, çevreye hastalık yayan bataklığı kurutmak oldu. Toprak yol asfaltlandı, hat boyunca ağaçlandırıldı. Yolun sağına soluna, kente, Taşhan’a kadar spor, eğlence, dinlenme tesisleri yapılması düşünülüyordu.

Bu fotoğrafta ise çadırlar görülüyor. Çadırlar, Kültür Parkı’nın (Gençlik Parkı) yapılacağı alan içerisinde ve parkın yapımında çalışanlara ait olmalı.

1930’larda atıcılık sporunun gelişmesi, yaygınlaştırılması amacıyla yaptırılan Atış Poligonu’nun görülmüyor. Ama bahçesi bütün güzelliğiyle gözler önünde.
