Summary[edit]

Description A stately arch leads to a chamber that is tightly closed and off limits to the public. It looked rather formidable with that solid teak door flanked by the Canada flag on either side. The dark patch at the centre over the arch top reminded me of the day of steam locomotives, where passing trains always used to leave such soot marks on bridges, tunnel entrances etc. thanks to the smoke from the steam engines! (Ottawa, Canada, June 2015)
