[edit]DescriptionReichsstadt Memmingen Territorium, Hase 1742.png |
English: Detail cropped out of a mid-18th century map showing the territory of the Free Imperial City of Memmingen (purple). The double-headed eagle above the city's name indicates its status as a free imperial city. Memmingen was bordered to the east by Ottobeuren Abbey, to the west by the abbeys of Buxheim, Oschenhausen and Roth, to the south by the Princely Abbey of Kempten and the County of Waldburg, and to the north by land belonging to the counts of Fugger. Cropped out of a map centered on the Swabian Circle titled Circvli Sveviae Mappa designed by Johann Matthias Hase and published by Homann Heirs (Homann Erben) in 1742 |
