Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Detail cropped out of an 18th century map showing the small territory of the Free Imperial City of Giengen (now Giengen an der Brenz). Giengen was entirely surrounded by the Württemberg exclave of Heidenheim and was never able to acquire a hinterland like most other free imperial cities. The stylized black double-headed eagle indicates Giengen's status as an imperial city. The map, titled Nova et accuratißima Ducatus Wurtenbergici, was published by Matthäus Seutter between 1730 and 1760.
