Basal regrowth after logging, Freshwater Creek (east of Eureka, California)

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Basal regrowth after logging, 1/8 mile up a north-side tributary of Freshwater Creek, near the city park, (east of Eureka, California). This trail is locally called "Yellow Gate Trail", and it is used by locals, even though it has a no-trespassing sign. The trail is flat, as it was used probably by oxen for early logging. The yellow gate is visible on the left as one is driving on the paved road inland along Freshwater Creek. It is about 1/4 mile before the paved road ends and a serious no trespassing sign is where the dirt logging road begins. A portion of the old stump can be seen.
