English: Red-figure stamnos dated around 440 BC, found in Chiusi, originating from Attica attributed to the "Painter of Midas".
Silenos leads before Midas, seated on a diphros and holding a scepter in his right hand, wearing a saccos, in front of which the long ears of an ass project. Before him stands Silenos, bald, with his wrists bound behind him by cords held by a bearded Phrygian. On the right, Europa acts as a fan-bearer with a long-handled fan. |
