Lattice division for the red-black algorithm on an even and odd square grid.

Summary[edit]

Description
English: The red-black algorithm can be used to parallelize serial algorithms such as successive over-relaxation (SOR). Each cell in the grid is colored red or black in a checkerboard pattern. This means that if we update the red grid values, all the neighbour values of the black grid are updated and vice versa. To solve the complete grid, we update each sublattice after the other in an alternating fashion.
