Summary[edit]

Description
English: Reconstruction of System Dynamics from a Time Series (using the canonical Lorenz attractor example) (A) Projecting the motion of the Lorenz attractor onto the x-axis yields a time series for variable x. (B) Successive lags (with time step τ) of the time series xt are plotted as separate coordinates to form a reconstructed (and visually similar) “shadow” attractor that preserves essential mathematical properties of the original system.
