A high school junior, using rechargeable solar light and an improvised rain collecting contraption to obtain water, gets ready for an evening of hard study and competitive robotics building, 67 days after hurricane Maria hit his rural community in Puerto Rico. The goal is to reach the pinnacle in a mainland international robotics competition. This year it will require an extraordinary personal effort and ingenuity just to get there.
