onbecomes weary with the effort to support himself, or is incon-venienced by the pressure of his tissues against the hardmetal or porcelain surfaces of the tub. The arrangementshould be such that the patient may be as fully as possibleat ease. This requires that he should be suspended by somearrangement resembling a hammock. A closely woven ham-mock, covered with a blanket, may be used for the purpose,or a strong linen sheet may be employed. The hammockmay be suspended from hooks attached to the walls of theroom, being allowed to sag into the bath-tub sufficiently tosubmerge the patient. The sheet may be supported inproper position by means of a frame with pegs or holesproperly adjusted to the top of the tub. By means of strongtapes attached to the sheet, it may be fastened to the framein such a way as to maintain the patients body in the mostcomfortable and restful position.
