Summary[edit]

Description
English: Ramachandran-plot data (phi vs psi protein backbone torsion angles) for all 116,789 Glycine residues in a quality-filtered dataset from 8000 protein chains. Glycine populates the 180°,180° phi,psi region, so that the standard Ramachandran plot with 180*,180° at the corners splits up the continuous regions. This "redux" plot shifts phi by 180° and psi by -90° to make the populated regions continuous, which puts alpha-helix in the lower right and extended conformations across the top. At 3600x3600 pixels, each pixel represents the data in a 0.1° bin, color-coded as gray: 1 datapoint, orange: 2, gold: 3, yellow: 4, yellowtint: 5, white: 6.
