Description

Prestigious international travel brand, Conde Nast Traveller has named Dunedin’s Railway Station in a recently published list of the world’s most beautiful railway stations.

Identified as one of New Zealand's most majestic and most photographed heritage buildings, this accolade acknowledges the striking Flemish style which earned its architect, George Troup, a knighthood. After over 100 years, the Dunedin Railway station continues to astonish visitors to the city with its stunning exterior as well as the exquisite interior stained glass windows and mosaic floor tiles by Royal Doulton, which pay homage to an age of elegance.
