Deutsch: Die Exposition durch Radon wird im Strahlenschutz mit Größen wie "Milli-Joule-Stunden pro Kubikmeter (mJh/m^3)", "Working Level Month WLM" und "Mega-Bequerel-Stunden pro Kubikmeter (MBqh/m^3)" beschrieben. Die genannten Größen können ineinander umgerechnet werden. Umrechnungen in die Größe MBqh/m^3 hängen allerdings davon ab, in welchem Umfang das Radon mit seinen Folgeprodukten im radioaktiven Gleichgewicht steht. Oft wird damit gerechnet, dass sich dieses zu 40 % eingestellt hat. Zur Konversion in Äquivalentdosen, insbesondere in die Effektivdosis in "Sievert Sv", siehe die Konversionsfaktoren der Internationalen Strahlenschutzkommission ICRP in "Occupational Intakes of Radionuclides OIR". Radon ist im Rahmen der OIR eine eigenständige Rubrik. Zum zusätzlichen Krebsrisiko („Excess Relative Rate ERR") - hier erwiesenermaßen Lungenkrebs - siehe die Publikation "Lung Cancer and Radon: Pooled Analysis of Uranium Miners Hired in 1960 or Later" aus der Bergarbeiterstudie "PUMA".
