Summary[edit]

Description
English: Radio listening post In World War Two this was a Radio Listening Post, built to monitor enemy radio traffic. It was jointly operated by the Telecommunications Research Establishment (TRE), Malvern, and the RAF, and evidently the location was chosen because it had the best radio reception that could be found in the area. The site was self-contained with water and septic tank and the building was connected to four large lattice radio aerials. It was a secretive place, surrounded by a high wire fence and with an armed guard. Information gathered from the listening post helped to locate the German V2 missile base at Peenemunde. A poorly preserved piece of early SIGINT history.
