Italiano: MASCHERA CIMIERO - Testa poggiante su collo troncoconico con volto concavo cuoriforme tinto in caolino. Occhi con specchi, bocca ellissoidale prominente con denti in vista, scarificazioni all'altezza delle tempie.

Il cimiero Oglinye potrebbe avere la sua origine (Kasfir 1988) nel vicino Cross River (tra Nigeria e Camerun) e inizialmente sarebbe stata legato ai cacciatori di teste (in origine la testa era forse quella del nemico ucciso). Ejagham e Boki condividono con gli Idoma, sia pur con differenze stilistiche, questo tipo di maschera. La maschera danza in occasione del secondo funerale (quello che a una certa distanza di tempo dalla sepoltura celebra l'arrivo del morto nel mondo degli antenati) di un membro della società Oglinye.

La maschera rappresenta una donna il cui costume bianco è portato anche sopra la testa. Pur avendo perso la sua funzione orginaria, resta comunque legata alle manifestazioni dell'aggressività maschile.
