  • "In sepulcro hujus avitae ecclesiae requiescunt in Domino ossa principis Francisci Rákóczi II, matris ejus Hel. Zerinae et filii Josephi necnon trium fidelium sociorum, quos omnes infausta sorte per duo saecula patria extorres, grata posteritas ex terra diuturni exilii devote retulit et die 29. mens. octobris anni 1906 in hoc loco sacrato, honestissimo cum exequiarum cultu ad requiem tranquillam pie ac digne denuo colocavit.
  • Siste viator! Honora tantorum herorum magna merita et praeclaram memoriam.
  • Monumentum hoc posuit senatus populusque hujus civitatis anno Domini 1938."
Magyar: II. Rákóczi Ferenc domborműve a kassai Szent Erzsébet-dóm északi oldalán. A dombormű, és a Rákóczi-címer Löffler Béla alkotása, az emléktáblát Sipos Béla kassai építészmérnök tervezte. A szöveget Wick Béla kanonok írta. Az alkotást 1938. július 24-én avatták.

Eme alkotás mögött található a dómban a Rákóczi kripta. A képen látható koszorú a szellőzőnyílás ablakára van kötözve.

  • Ez ősi templom kriptájában nyugszanak az Úrban II. Rákóczi Ferenc fejedelem, anyja Zrínyi Ilona, fia József, valamint három hűséges társa csontjai, akiket a hálás utókor, miután a balsors két évszázadon át hazájuktól távol tartotta őket, a hosszas száműzetés földjéről tisztességgel hazahozott és 1906. október 29-én e megszentelt helyen, díszes gyászszertartás keretében, a csendes pihenés végett, kegyesen és illendőképpen újra elhelyezett.

A dombormű alatt ez áll:

  • Állj meg, utazó! Becsüld az ily hősök kiváló érdemeit és ragyogó emlékét.
  • Ez emlékművet e város tanácsa és lakossága emelte, az Úr 1938. esztendejében.
