Description
English: Pupal cases of the red palm weevil, Rhynchophorus ferrugineus, taken from the bases of fallen leaves of a Canary Island date palm, Phoenix canariensis. The cases have been opened and show hatched adult weevils, ready to leave the cases when temperatues are sufficiently high. Near Alistro, Corsica, 30 Dec 2012. The coin is a one Euro coin, diameter 23.25 mm.
