Description
Profiel van Amsterdam vanaf het IJ. Fries van 4 bladen, verdeeld in drie delen: het IJ met talloze schepen, de stad en de lucht met allegorieën en lofzangen op Amsterdam. Middenboven de Amsterdamse Maagd, omgeven door Mercurius en Neptunus, exotische volkeren die geschenken en balen goederen aanbrengen, godinnen en putti met attributen. Deze vormen samen een allegorie op de Amsterdamse handel. Links het wapen van de Republiek in de Hollandse Tuin en rechts het wapen van Amsterdam met de keizerskroon. In de beide bovenhoeken cartouches met Latijnse verzen van Petrus Scriverius, die de loftrompet steken van Amsterdam. Linksonder opdracht aan de stadsregering door Willem Jansz. Blaeu.
