| Description |
English: Part of Book 1, from the Salt Lake County Probate Court's Land Claim Record Books. These books are the records of the initial declaratory statements for claims to land filed by LDS Pioneers, which started the process for them to obtain federally recognized land titles since the Territorial land titles were not and were excluded from the federal homestead system. The Probate Court reconciled the Territorial land records with the federal homestead system between the years 1871-1873, and the titles were retroactive back to 1852. |
