500px provided description: Een van de opvallendste hotels in Nederland is ongetwijfeld Het Arresthuis in de Limburgse stad Roermond (Remunj). Het hotel, onderdeel van het Van der Valk Concern, is gevestigd in een voormalig huis van bewaring. In 2002 werd het gebouw, na jarenlang leeg te hebben gestaan, in gebruikgenomen als noodvoorziening voor 'bolletjesslikkers'. Halverwege 2007 werd de gevangenis voorgoed gesloten, en omgebouwd tot een luxueus hotel. Bijkomend voordeel: het hotel ligt op loopafstand van het station, en voordat je het weet ben je in Duitsland of Belgi?.
