Summary[edit]

Description

Principles of performing a spinal anaesthesia. Using the already introduced cannula between the spinous processes of the L3/L4 vertebrae, the spinal needle is then introduced and punctuated within the subarachnoid space. Through this needle, local anaesthetics and other drugs may be injected.

Shown is a median section of the saggital plane. This representation is simplified, and the proportions do not match with reality.
