This is a retouched picture, which means that it has been digitally altered from its original version. Modifications: Montage of two photographs, joined via very slender overlap. PS "distort" tool used to match perspective of each photo. Brightness adjusted and matched, colour casts removed. Sharpened. However, the only *detail* that has been modified are the join of the distant hills at the top; everything else is an accurate reflection of the original photos..

Original photographs shot with an SLR on colour negative film; scanned via their colour prints.
Not a great image, unfortunately; it had been raining that day, and the sky is quite clearly overcast. Possibly worthwhile as a semi-historical view.
This is the original manually-photocomposited image; a redone version (using negative scans and CS5 auto-stitch) is available via "other versions" above. This older version has inferior colour and a more obvious join, but shows more detail in the distance, has less distortion and may be worth keeping as a separate file.
