Notes The Improved Columbian Press, made in England in 1878, retains the American decoration of eagle and serpents. It was used for proof-pulling by Messrs Wright and Jaques Ltd, Printers, Albert St, Auckland William Colenso, the Mission Printer, used both a Stanhope and a Columbia Eagle Press at Paihia in the 1830s.
