Español: La Presidenta Michelle Bachelet (al centro) decreta estado de excepción constitucional de catástrofe para las regiones de Arica y Parinacota, y de Tarapacá, la madrugada del 2 de abril de 2014 tras el terremoto ocurrido la noche anterior en la costa de la región de Tarapacá. De izquierda a derecha: Rodrigo Peñailillo Briceño, ministro del interior; Jorge Burgos, ministro de Defensa; la presidenta Bachelet; Ximena Rincón González, ministra secretaria general de la presidencia; y Álvaro Elizalde, ministro secretario general de gobierno. "Presidenta decreta Estado de Excepción Constitucional de Catástrofe para Arica y Parinacota y Tarapacá. La Mandataria indicó que esta medida busca "evitar situaciones de saqueo y de desorden, junto con colaborar con la autoridad de la zona en las labores de ayuda que ya han comenzado", tras el terremoto de 8.3 grados en la escala de Richter que se registró a las 20:46 hrs. de ayer en el norte de Chile."
