Description Lot 9428-5: Freedom’s Price – Hard Work, Sorrow, and Blood. President Franklin D. Roosevelt is pictured in the White House at Washington, D.C., as he delivered his world-wide April 28th, 1942, address. Revealing that “several hundred thousands” of Americans are now on the world battlefronts, he said, “The price for civilization must be paid in hard work and sorrow and blood.
