Nederlands: Wie monsieur Manie, meer bekend als Kleine Jacob, 't lichamelijk zoo benedenmatige potsenmakertje bij Carré in actie ziet, zal bezwaarlijk vermoeden, dat dit oolijke baasje er vrouw en kinderen op na houdt. Toch is het zoo. Op onze foto compareert het echtpaar met kroost. Mevt. Manie, evenals haar gemaaltje, uit Belgie geboortig, verhuigt zich in een normale lengte en de naast haar staande kleine René (4 jaar) en 't meisje, Aline (6 jaar) dreigen die mettertijd óók te zullen krijgen. Maar Marcel, de kleinste van de drie, is al 8 jaar. Dit leuke hukkepukkie belooft dus op 't stuk van "grootte", 'n waardig zoon van z'n papa en, evenals deze, door zijn kleinheid groot te worden. - In een onderhoud met Monsieur Manie vernamen wij, dat hij 38 jaar geleden te Charleroi werd geboren, daar op 16-jarigen leeftijd zijn circus-loopbaan begon, eenmaal op een fete Flamande met Prins Boudewijn ' n glas champagne dronk en in de meeste groote steden van Europa is opgetreden. In 't gewone leven blijkt hij levenslustig, vroolijk, maar bovenal bescheiden te zijn. Hij houdt zich niet grooter dan hij is, schuwt alle grootdoenerij en minder dan tal van kunstenaars, wier populariteit bij die van "Kleine Jacob" hopeloos in 't niet zinkt, loopt hij gevaar aan grootheidswaanzin te zullen gaan laboreeren
