Post Medieval coin weight for a spur ryal
Description
English: Copper alloy square coin weight for a spur ryal of James I, tariffed at XVs indicating it related to coins of the early 2nd coinage (1604-1612) or 3rd coinage (1619-1625). These weights were replaced by round ones with similar designs post-1632 (Withers and Withers 1995:38). 16.7mm square, 3.2mm thick and 5.75 grams (88.6 grains).
