Photographic portrait of the Havasupai wife of Navajo deserted Kohat (Kohot) who became Chief of the Havasupai Indians, ca.1898. She sits on something covered with a blanket. She wears a long-sleeved shirt, pants, moccasins, and a blanket wrapped around her shoulders. She has thick straight gray hair to her shoulders. The entrance of a thatched dome-like dwelling is visible behind her, while a dark and light-colored dog lays on the ground at left.
