Week 2 Pearls (656-660) Sir Frederic Leighton English 1830 -1896 Portrait of a Roman Lady ( La Nanna) , 1859 Oil on canvas Leighton painted several pictures of the Roman model Anna, or Nanna, Risi. He exhibited this painting in 1859 in London at the Royal Academy to much acclaim. A popular model for artists, Nanna Risi was a tall, statuesque woman known for her passionate temper.
