Description
English: Portrait of Sarah Manning Vaughan, the wife of Benjamin Vaughan and sister of Martha Manning Laurens, the Vaughan Homestead. Note: Benjamin Vaughan was a British political radical. He was a commissioner in the negotiations between Britain and the United States at the drafting of the Treaty of Paris. Martha was the wife of the lieutenant colonel John Laurens. The Vaughan knew influential people of the time, among them were the first president of United States, George Washington and his wife, Martha Washington.
