English: Portrait of an Officer, presumably Louis I, Grand Duke of Hesse (1753-1830) or his brother Prince Christian of Hesse and by Rhine (1763-1830).
  • Identification proposed by user Ecummenic (talk) based on the comparison with some portraits of those princes (see images below), and the presence of the sash of the Hessian Order of Ludwig I.
