A view of the taking of the Spanish frigate Hermione from the Puerto Cabello, Venezuela, 25 October 1799. French Revolutionary Wars (1792-1802): Anglo-Spanish Wars (1796-1802).

Hermione was a British ship which had been captured by the Spaniards and was now re-taken by the British.

The lettering of the text is faintly engraved, and the upper-case letters are engraved in outline, suggesting the possibility that this is a proof impression.

The companion print is at RCIN 735080.b.
