Description: Scrapbook page contains one photograph of the entrance to the Porta della Carta in Venice, Italy, with annotated information about the history, architecture and design elements of the site.

Transcription: The entrance to the Cortile, courtyard of the Doge's Palace built in 1440. From the small column the decrees of the Senate were read to the people. This gateway was thus named because it was where the secretaries wrote. The figure of Justice is enthroned between two lions.
