Porcelain Tower of Nanjing and cross section of the Yellow River

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Because of sediment transport the Yellow River becomes longer, which results in a raise of the bottom of the river. Because of that the bottom is now well above the land surface. This makes dike breaches very dangerous. This leads to large flooding and a breach which is difficult to close.
