Français : Il existe au moins deux, et peut-être trois, versions de ce tableau. La plus grande, 137 x 96 cm hors cadre, attribuée par l'Etat en 1842 à l'abbaye Saint-Martin de Pontoise, a été transférée dans l'église Notre-Dame de Pontoise vers le milieu du 19e siècle Notice Palissy, où elle se trouve toujours en 2023. Une autre version, exposée par l'artiste au Salon de 1841 (numéro 31 du livret) sous le titre Saint Louis et la reine Blanche venant prier sur le tombeau de saint Gauthier, dans l'abbaye de Saint-Martin, près Pontoise (Chronique de Pontoise) (base Salons) était de dimensions plus réduites : d'après le Registre des ouvrages du salon de 1841 (numéro 2091) (Database of Salon Artists), l'oeuvre mesurait 100 x 84 cm, mais on ignore si ces dimensions étaient avec ou sans cadre. La version du Salon pourrait correspondre à la version vendue chez De Baecque en juin 2023 (74 x 60 cm sans cadre) agrandie d'un cadre, à moins qu'il s'agisse d'une troisième version. |
