Description
  • Italiano: Roma, San Salvatore in Lauro: Facciata. La facciata è una tarda opera di architettura purista (1857-1862) di Camillo Guglielmetti, e presenta un protiro a colonne corinzie sormontato da un bassorilievo di Rinaldo Rinaldi (1793-1873) raffigurante la Santa Casa di Nazareth che, come vuole la tradizione, viene trasportata dagli angeli verso Loreto. Sul tetto della Santa Casa, seguendo l'iconografia classica, è assisa la Madonna con il Bambino e a Lei fa riferimento l'iscrizione sul fregio al di sotto del frontone: "Mariae Lauretanae Piceni Patronae" ossia "A Maria di Loreto patrona del Piceno".
    English: Rome, San Salvatore in Lauro: Facade. The facade is a late work of architecture purist (1857-1862) Camillo Guglielmetti, and has a porch with Corinthian columns surmounted by a bas-relief of Rinaldo Rinaldi (1793-1873) depicting the Holy House of Nazareth who, according to tradition, is carried by the angels to Loreto. On the roof of the Holy House, following the classic iconography, is seated the Virgin and Child, and you refer the inscription on the frieze below the pediment: "Mariae Lauretanae Picenes Patronae" or "A Lady of Loreto patron of Piceno" .
