| Description |
English: Platform 2 and 1855 building - Halifax station. Only the island platform remains in use. The 1855 station building lay disused and derelict for many years. In 2000 the building, which is located on the Eureka! site, was regenerated with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Clore Duffield Foundation. It won the National Railway Heritage Trust Award in 2002. Sadly this fine building, nor the platform alongside are available for long-suffering passengers. The platform area was glazed in and since 2003 has been used as as part of Eureka's nursery. Compare with 676080 taken from the south end of the platform in 1989. |
