| Description |
English: Plaque at Longpark. This slate plaque is on the side of one of the buildings at Brunel's Atmospheric Railway pumping house - see 1728775. A shame I didn't have some means of lifting that drooping bit of wiring out of the way.
Longpark Pottery was established in the buildings some 30 years after Brunel's abortive venture, and was probably an offshoot of Watcombe Pottery. One of its hallmark designs, a cockerel, can be seen adorning a jug at http://www.studiopottery.com/cgi-bin/pp.cgi?item=3890 . |
