Description
English: Plaque on stone on East Putnam Avenue in Greenwich, Connecticut marking the spot where General Israel Putnam is said to have rode his horse down a steep slope to escape a British force. The plaque was put up by the Daughters of the American Revolution, which runs nearby Putnam Cottage, then a tavern where Putnam had been staying
