Français : Cette carte montre un projet de canal des rapides de Lachine à Montréal préparé pour illustrer un projet visant à apporter l'énergie hydraulique des rapides de Lachine à Montréal et communiquant avec le port. Elle situe aussi l'emplacement des endroits suivants : le bassin n° 2; le canal Lachine; le carré Viger; le Champ-de-Mars; la gare du Grand Tronc; la Place d'Armes; les îles au Diable, au Héron, Moffatt et Saint-Paul (ou des Soeurs); les quais de Pointe-Saint-Charles proposés par l'honorable John Young; les terrains du Grand Tronc et des Soeurs de la Congrégation; l'aqueduc; Windmill Point; les chemins de la Côte-Saint-Paul et Lower Lachine; les rues Craig, Napoléon, Notre-Dame, Saint-Antoine, Saint-Joseph, Saint-Patrick, Saint-Paul et Wellington.
