Description
Fotografia prezentuje medalion z popiersiem młodej kobiety, ukazanej lewym profilem z lekko pochyloną głową o regularnych rysach twarzy. Falujące włosy z grzywką na czole są spięte nisko na karku. Delikatnie modelowany zarys dekoldu sukni. Przy krawędzi znajduje się sygnatura rzeźbiarza: „Pio Weloński Roma”. Okrągły medalion jest przytrzymywany od prawej przez pełnoplastyczną postać smoka z rozpostartymi skrzydłami. Jest to nawiązanie do nazwiska portretowanej: w języku włoskim „drago” to „smok”). Dopełnieniem rzeźbiarskiej kompozycji jest podstawa w formie udrapowanej tkaniny obszytej frędzlami, na której jest widoczna leżąca zamknięta korona i gałązka róży. U krawędzi zamieszczono sygnaturę odlewnika: „Fond Nelli. ROMA”. Kompozycja, wykonana w formie odlewu, została sfotografowana na dwubarwnym tle: jednolicie jasnym od góry i ciemniejszym od dołu, uzyskanym z udrapowanej tkaniny. Odbitka, sporządzona na papierze albuminowym, została naklejona na kartonowy podkład bez oznaczeń firmowych. Dokumentuje medalion księżnej D’Antuni del Drago autorstwa Piusa Welońskiego (1849–1931), wybitnego polskiego rzeźbiarza działającego w Rzymie w latach 1880–1898. Została sporządzona w latach 80.
